The application is submitted to the Ministry of Labor which verifies that the foreign national is required for the work. 3. Upon approval, the Ministry of Labor forwards the application to the Ministry of Interior who is responsible for approving the residence permit (Iqamas). 4. Generally, women are not eligible for work permits. Exceptions may be made for nurses and teachers. In addition, individuals of certain religious faiths are not eligible for work permits. 5. All Employment Permit beneficiaries must be at least twenty-two years old. 6. The documents required to obtain an Employment Permit vary depending on the type of organization and the position being filled. The Employment Permits are issued for a maximum period of two years and may be extended. 7. Family members who will be accompanying the employee to Saudi Arabia must be included in the Residence Permit process. 8. Once the employee's Employment Permit is approved, application for a visa must be made to the Saudi Consulate with jurisdiction over the employee's legal current place of residence. Most commonly Requested documents (for Visa Processing): Please note that the Saudi Consulate reserves the right to request additional information and/or documentation. Also, most documents must be authenticated and legalized by the proper authority. 1. Completed application form (white); 2. Certified and notarized copy of the educational degrees with official transcripts; 3. Copy of signed contract; 4. Original letter of Invitation certified by the Saudi Chamber of Commerce; 5. Police Certificates; 6. Medical Report; 7. Three (3) passport-size photographs; and, 8. Application fee. Work visas are initially issued to foreign workers for one to three months after which a formal work permit is required. Im assuming you are a male.. Your best bet if you are walking in front of the lobby and where the public could view you, you should wear some gym pants/sweat pants over the shorts, and just remove those once you get to the gym... But as for in the gym itself.. shorts is fine as long as they arent those sheer nylon reveiling shorts cut up to your backside cheeks I see some daring men try to wear (God knows why they wear them)

Well of course yes ! But not outside or even in the lobby. Lobby becomes a public domain and people will be offended by this. Chance is - you will get a pat from the hotel staff to change. I've scuba dived at Nakheel Beach south of Jeddah (awesome cliff !!! wall diving down to 15-20 meters) and going back to Red Sea Palace Hotel - I was wearing my basketball shorts and T-shirt. Just alighting from the service bus front of the hotel (opposite the Al Balad Souk) I was instantly the street star attaction due to mmy wearing of shorts !!! . I ran to the hotel door just like hell as if Im up against Carl Lewis in a 100 meter sprint !!!

Hi Folks, I got the offer to work in Saudi Arabia for more than 1 yr with 2,690 USD per month gross.Accommodation, local transportation, flights and insurance costs will be my responsibility. Is it worth working there for this much of salary? Waiting for your reply.

The salary is low, but if we see the recession around us we have to accept this offer, Byhe way what position in the company and where you going to stay in saudi arabia? Are you coming to saudi arabia on job visa or other visa? it matters my dear pls reply me. or can call me in saudi arabia +966-542761841 for more information. It depends on the city and area, if you are coming to Jeddah,Riyadh,Mecca,Medina then you no need to pay high rent if you are coming to Eastern proveince like,Dammam,Al-khobar,Al-jubail then you have to pay high amount,its different rentals, food stuff is little bit expensive here as we compare to other cities.but can survive in this salary but hard to save. Local transport is ok manageable

thats about 10,088sr per mo.. which really isnt that bad for a bachelor.. I dont know what the first poster thought.. you didnt tell us what your nationality is or what the job is and what your qualifications are.. Saudi has work/trade agreements with different nations.. for example an engineer from USA will obviously be paid much more than an engineer from India in exactly the same position.. but still I think 10,088 Riyals a month is excellent starting pay..

Officially No. But unofficially yes. Unlike US and Europe there is no proper labour laws and governance body to enforce the rule.

No. It specifically says under "Residency" visa on the Saudi Embassy website that a residency visa does not grant someone the right to work inside the Kingdom.
