He can bring back as many as he wants, but don't get caught but really, You are allowed only 2 cartons of cigarettes through customs.

I don't know where "Peter K" got his information from, but you are allowed to bring in 200 cigarettes only which means 1 carton. Your bf should put one carton inside the check in luggage and a couple packs in different pockets and the carry on. That way he will be fine. Do not overdue it. When caught (and that happens) he will not get punished, but will have to pay tax on it. That way cheap cigarettes will become expensive fast.
3 :
Tell him to use his socks, they never check there.
4 :
I took about 3 cartons with me, but what I did was I removed the packs out of the cartons and spread them out in my clothes. not really hiding them, just removed from the cartons so they knew I wasnt planning on selling them. I also had on my carry one a few packs.
5 :
yes. spread them out in your carryon and checked.. and put them in your underwear (the underwear in the luggage, not what your wearing. hahaha) .. no one likes riffling through old gross underwear.. its true..
6 :
well, check the us customs website, tobacco and firearms office maybe. usually it is 200 cigarettes per person, or 10packs.
7 :
i think 2 cartons.

The following categories of visitors may receive their visit visa at the airport, upon arrival. 1. AGCC Residents who are not GCC nationals but who have a high professional status such as company managers, business people, auditors, accountants, doctors, engineers, pharmacists, or employees working in the public sector, their families, drivers and personal staff sponsored by them, are eligible for a non-renewable 30-day visa upon arrival at the approved ports of entry. 2. National citizens of the following countries: UK(with the right of abode in UK), France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and holders of Hong Kong SAR passports will be granted a free of charge visa for a single visit upon arrival in the UAE. It should be noted that this list may vary slightly from time to time and it is therefore best to check with your local UAE embassy or the airline that you are using to fly to the UAE. - If you do NOT fall into one of the above categories, you will require a visa and a sponsor for your visit. The sponsor normally applies for the visa on your behalf. Valid sponsors may be as follows:- a - Hotels & Tourist Companies can apply, on your behalf, for a Tourist Visa (valid for 30 days); or a Service Visa (valid for 14 days); or a Visit Visa (valid for 30 days and can be extended for other 30 days) b - Airlines & Airlines Handlers apply on behalf of their crew members for a 96-hour Transit Visa. c - Other Organizations based in the UAE may only apply for Visit Visas and Service Visas. d - Individuals (Relatives or Friends) already resident in the UAE may, subject to guidlines, also apply on your behalf for a Visit Visa. Tourist Visa A special category of visas under the Visit Visa type is a Tourist Visa, which can be obtained for individual tourists from: East and West Europe, Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, Albania, Russia, the Hellenic Republic, St Kitts-Navis, St Lucia, Mexico, Cuba, Bermuda, Belize, Guyana, French Guiana, Martinique, Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent, Kingston, Palao other non-defined American nationalities, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, China, Malta, Cyprus. The Tourist Visa entitles its holder to a 30 day stay and is non-renewable. The Tourist Visa requires the sponsorship of hotels and tour operators who bring in visitors from the above listed countries. The fee is AED 100. There is also a fee of AED 10 for visa delivery service by DNATA. Hotels, hotel apartments, tour operators, travel agents and airlines may not levy supplementary charges or processing fees in excess of AED 50/- for arranging visas for visitors. It does appear as though you will definately require a Visa.

Is it possible for foreigners to find a date in Saudi Arabia

Is it possible for foreigners to find a date in Saudi Arabia?
For someone who will be working in Saudi Arabia, is it possible to have some romantic life? I heard dating is illegal, but some people say there will be plenty of fun happening inside of the western compounds.

you know.. you should think of your visit to saudi as this... if you go to someones home, you abide or honor the rules that the hostess/houseowner has.. if she has some quirky rules, you follow them while in her home.. well same as SaudiArabia.. you are not forced to come here, you chose or are choosing to come here to work or visit, So abide by the rules/laws of the country while you are here.. If our Islamic morals dont allow for open dating etc, then dont.. Surely you can do without dating and just enjoy your time with your friends while here. The whole world wont revolve around a love relationship while you are here. having said this.. well im certain, humans are humans and feelings develop, no matter where you are.. Yes in some closed housing compounds, where westerners are more, they do have their own social gatherings and im sure they date there and build relationships.. just please, dont have the mindset of coming here just to find a love.. .. just come for the arabic culture, friendships, and beauty of the country...

well what u heard is right... Dating is illegal in saudi arabia... whatever happens in western compounds happens secretively n that is definitely not a platform to find your match.. already hooked up ones do get together there n have fun.. like there is intermixing of opposite sexes...BUT !!! not everyone is freely allowed in there.... only people who reside there n their friends can come n visit... people always find ways to break the law... so does that mean the law is to blame??? saudi govn. tries its best to stop any place of dating grounds etc... but few just go unnoticed bcz they r not aware of it.. correct measures r always taken to stop it n fines n cases r also filed strictly...
3 :
u should be professional & focus on your job rather than dating and such stuff. anyways, if things are going well where u at now & u desperately wanna date, trust me saudi arabia isn't the place to come.
4 :
It is considered "Taboo" or bad for Saudis to date. Most marriages here are arranged. In say, Aramco (Dhahran or R.T.) dating is fine.
5 :
dating your mom easier.

Yes there is plenty of fun inside the western compounds. I lived and worked there for thirteen ( 13 ) years with ARAMCO, now known as Saudiaramco. ARAMCO is the largest oil company in the world, employs over 65,000 people. Hey, sidiqui is free flowing inside those communities,..conducive to male/female adventures. Sidiqui ( sid - e - key ) is the Arab word for " my friend ", the word the Brits assigned to the 191 proof ethyl-alcohol made by westerners in their " still rooms. " Whether the western women are married or single, it's an orgy in those compounds,..I know. ( evil smile ) Just do not even think of schmoozing with the local Arab women. Don't even dream of it. Yikes,..what a thought,..scary. A word to the wise, is all I can say !
