What is a regular work week in Saudi Arabia

What is a regular work week in Saudi Arabia?
In the US 40 hours is considered full time, although many people work more hours, especially if on salary. People who get paid by the hour get time and a half after 40 hours. Business hours are 9-5. How does this compare to Saudi Arabia.

big corporations are run exactly the same as the American system.. companies like Aramco, Boeing, Schlumerberger, etc and all the other large corporations.. they get overtime after the 40hours put in.. and only work 5 days a week with 2 day weekend (our work week days are Sat through Wed, with Thurs/Fri off) and hours from 7am till 4pm with an hour off for lunch smaller businesses are run however the owner wants.. usually open around 9:30 to 10am and closed somewhat around noon right before the noon prayer time, then remaining closed during the afternoon just to open around 3:30 or 4pm.. then remaining open (only to close for 20min intervals during the evening prayers) but as a whole open till 10pm. .. and they hire loads of unskilled foreign laborers to do the work and they tend to work long shifts with maybe a few breaks.. .. 24hour shops tend to rotate workers more..

Many of the shops in malls, etc. are open from 9am-12pm and then 4pm to anywhere between 10:30 pm and midnight (maybe later in Ramadhan). Like Mintee said, the big comapanies usually work from 7am-4pm, but I find that they're relaxed more than the US. My husband used to come from work at 3:30pm on most days. Now, he's usually staying till 4pm. He is also able to take off any time he wants to take me or our baby to the doctor.

8 hours a day is the norm 5 days a week. how ever, i worked in a job for one extra day of the weekend. and it really varies from company to another. i'd say an average of 40-60 is normal. used to work from 9-5 yes. some work from 7-3 "like the printing press company i worked in" and i think my future job will be 9-6 5 days a week. as for over time, its 150% by the labor law for each hour minimum. how ever, they can go further but not less. each company also has a maximum number of overtime hours "so geeks like me dont work for 90 hours total and expect to get payed" depends which sector u work in rly. and each company has its own regulations so....
