I have read in one such yahoo discussion that somebody from usa was able to bring his family simultaneously with himself on first entry to saudi. I am an Indian.

No Dude, you need to come saudi fiirst , then you can apply for your family visa, your profession must be good on ur iqama when you come to saudi. ie engineer,doctor,accountant. otherwise they will not issue the family visa. no one can come in first visit with the family as per my knowledge.
