In some cases yes and in other cases no: If you mean working in a public pharmacy ----- No If you mean working as a Medical Representative ------ No If you mean working in a pharmacy of a hospital or in a hospital as a general case ------ Yes If you mean working as a Researcher in a Pharmaceutical Company ------- Yes If you mean working as a Researcher in any university ---------- Yes
2 :
in private hospitals and in closed pharmacutical labs, yes.. but in the open pharmacies around town, no.. Still in this Islamic society, if a woman is working in a place where she might be subject to meeting with a man alone, this is not allowed.. Im sure there are exceptions to every rule. But normally you know.. in a little street front pharmacy, she is the only vender there and if a man comes up to her alone, this is not allowed for her protection.. Maybe in the future if pharmacy windows were added in the major hypermarkets (like they do in USA in Walmart etc) where she will be working inside a booth that has closed off windows, and she can fill prescriptions from the safey of that booth, then possilby yes.. but they havent applied those as yet...
3 :
Yes female pharmacists can work in companies and hospitals where they have interna pharmacies etc but any pharmacy outlet or shop kinda thing, then it is a very strict No!!!!!!
4 :
yes saudi females and non saudi females are allowed to work in pharmcies and pharmaceutical companies.

dont know much - but congratulations on the opportunity :)
2 :
I say, go for it! 50K SR sounds great to me. All I can say about Saudi, are the drivers over there, they're crazy.
3 :
it all depends on the size of the company, if very big try to get more money. Be prepared for no movie theaters, no alcohol, be prepared to live in a compound. Life in Saudi pretty much sucks man. Especially for your family your wife/daughter has to wear head wear. Try countries with a less strict Muslim law, Jordan...anywhere else in the world. But please update your info with were you live, are you employed, how old are you? you can always go to saudi for a couple years gain reputation and get a better job somewhere else in the gulf. Just to let you know there is alot of opportunity in the middle east currently its up to you if you want to struggle in the atmosphere of saudi arabia for a couple of years. Overall, i think saudi arabia's atmosphere/socail life is very poor, but i would always work there if i was desperate for a job, i would get it gain rep. and get out:)
4 :
That̢۪s an excellent job position with a high pay. I would go for it if I was in your shoes. Btw : the people down here aren̢۪t that bad after all.
5 :
50,000 a year or a month? wow!.. if its a month.. you are going to be living like a king.. No one makes 50k a month.. at least not normal middle class working people.. thats like 13,300.00 us dollars per month.. You can live easily off a 10th of that.. 10,000 per month easily and save the other 40,000.. who cares if there is no theaters ,alcohol, etc.. with that money, you can fly every weekend to paris if you want to.. GEEZ.. we'd all dream for a job like that..
6 :
Well as Mintee said 50000SR per month is excellent. Even if you don't really like Saudi you can afford to travel whenever you like and you can live here and save up some money and then go back to your home country and just retire and live on your savings. You could easily live on less than half of that salary with your whole family. And I do think that once you get settled in to Saudi you will be ok with the country too.
7 :
50K per month is definitely a lot of money here. If you don't live in an expensive compound, then you will save a LOT of money while you're here. Live a simple life here and take your money home.

where are you from first? and which city you will go to it is very safe in saudi, crime is very low if you are from the middle east or from india or pakistan or asia, or african, you have no problems,
2 :
No problem, go ahead. Saudi Arabia is one of the safest place with less crime rate. All the best.
3 :
Yes ! my uncle have done the 7 years job in a American-Saudi company named Career. He told us that it was very wonderful experience.
4 :
Very safe. Its has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Just obey the rules like no drinking etc. And learn some basic Arabic at least.
5 :
absolutely! one of the places in the world i feel the safest
6 :
very safe... crime is very low.. people tend to leave car doors open, houses unlocked, ive even once forgot and left my laptop in my car for 4 hours while inside a mall, and came back and there it still was.. peoples moral fiber here are very high.. The only, really only thing your dad will hate is the heat, everything else is fine... goodluck! and may God bless your family!
7 :
You and your dad have nothing to worry about. Saudi is a very safe country and as everyone else said the crime rate is really low. however it will depend on which city he will be in. some cities are ofcourse better than others in entertainment & shopping, restaurants...etc. Besides the heat, your dad will get very bored untill he makes friends. My dad is the same age as yours and he is actually looking for a job here in saudi so he will be close to me. I have been here for 5 years & i was really lonely & bored in the begining, now when i go back home for holidays i miss Saudi!!!!!
8 :
Crime wise it is very safe. However, keep in mind that what may be normal practices in a western community could be too risky here in KSA e.g. drinking, talking and going out with women, smoking etc.

I work in Saudi Arabia, and we have abnormal mild temperatures is it part of Global warming

I work in Saudi Arabia, and we have abnormal mild temperatures is it part of Global warming?
Normally in this time of the year we are up to 38-40 C in April but now we are at 30-35 C only. Low humidity and great weather. Although I am enjoying this I am sad that Mother earth is changing or is it not? perhaps this is just a coincidence?

What you're experiencing in Saudi is more down to the weather then global warming. Weather affects things on a local scale and over a short period of time whereas global warming relates to climate which is based on long term trends around the world. Chances are that the temperatures will rise soon and that if you were to average them out across a long peiod of time you'd find they were close to normal. Whilst it may be cooler where you are, over here in the UK it's considerably warmer than normal and we've just had the hottest April on record. Some places above normal, some below normal but overall a worldwide warming trend. Also worth remembering that whilst the world is warming, the year on year change is very small - about 0.0156 degrees C. barely noticable over a short period of time.

Earth has always changed, it changes all of the time. Only this time it is changing a little more. This is not man made, and a overhyped issue. Please watch the Global Warming Special on May 2nd on Headline News (204 on Direct TV) at 7:00, 9:00 or Midnight Eastern Time. YOu will get the truth in this one hour special. This is way overhyped and just another reason to tax us to death and force us to buy the bogus carbon credits. Global Warming is a trojan horse for Socialism, wake up Americans. Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES
